Pregnancy Update

Yup, still pregnant. Tomorrow is my actual due date.

Since finding out I was pregnant, I always assumed the baby would be late. I was late and first babies in general usually are. But a couple of weeks ago I went to my doctor who said I was 2 cm dilated already and wouldn't be surprised if I didn't make it to my next appointment. Well, I did and to another one after that. I blame him for making me so antsy.

I had an appointment yesterday and with my due date rapidly approaching, the doctor scheduled my induction, just in case. If Peanut doesn't come on out on her own, we're inducing labor October 1. I will definitely have a kid in a week, if not sooner.

We also went ahead and scheduled a non stress test for Friday morning with a follow up appointment with my doctor on Monday.

I had some pretty intense contractions about 2 weeks ago and then nothing since so we'll see how this all shakes out.

I hope she comes out soon because I'm getting a little tired of watching daytime television. Today I caught myself watching Martha Stewart and Maury. Yikes! Although this sleeping in thing is working out nicely for me.

They say most first babies are late although my darling came a couple of days early. Funny thing, I had my weekly doctor's appt the Wed before. I wasn't dilated at all and my doc told me it would probably be a while. Fast forward two days to Friday night and my water breaks. Baby born on Sunday. Due date was Tuesday. Just goes to show you never can tell.

I'm hoping my water breaks so I'll have one clear sign that I am in labor. So far, every cramp or pain has me thinking labor is beginning.

Omigosh ... I remember that first day of maternity leave and how I hoped Nathan would come ... RIGHT THEN.

I wish you luck, hon. I'm sure everything is going to be great. Don't worry about everything that "needs to be done." Just take care of yourself and relax.

Also, what hospital are you going to? Nathan was born at Prentice and it was AWESOME. Okay, I don't really remember it, but it was nice on the tour! :)

*hugs to you!*

Hi Marianne. We're going to Advocate IL Masonic. It's very patient friendly (from what I was told by a checker at Trader Joe's who's wife is a doula). Thanks for the kind words!

Congrats on your upcoming little one! We're expecting ours in a few weeks... or maybe sooner, we'll see. ;)
